THE DYNAMIC VOICE STUDIO
Train your vocal instrument. Unlock your Artistry. Sing with Confidence.
What is The Dynamic Voice Studio?
The Dynamic Voice Studio is the premiere online vocal training ground for highly motivated singers who are ready to level up their vocal technique, map out their unique career path, and thrive with the help of uplifting mentors and peers. We work with students from the U.S., U.K., Europe, Brazil, Australia and more.
A lot of singers end up piecing their development together through a wide range of disconnected resources — private lessons, workshops, masterclasses, online programs, college training, YouTube videos, and more. While each of these experiences can offer value, they lack the consistency, personalization, mentorship, and structure artists truly need in order to accelerate their skillset and careers.
Per the current industry standard: A single workshop with a notable industry guest can easily cost anywhere from $100–$300. A single private voice lesson with a highly skilled vocal technician can range from $100–$350 for a 1 hour session.
At The Dynamic Voice Studio, we deeply understand how hard artists work to support themselves while also investing in their training, creativity, and future careers.
That’s why The Dynamic Voice Studio (TDV) was intentionally designed differently.
“The Dynamic Voice Studio has provided a musical family, confidence, safety and love that has propelled me forward not just with singing but even with life itself and how I move through it. I am more in tune with my emotions and expressing them. I understand who I am and what my body is to me from this program. I can happily and loudly take up space.”
TDV was created to fill a major gap in the training resources available to singers and performing artists by bringing together the strongest elements of:
elite vocal technique training
personalized mentorship and feedback
workshops and masterclasses
artist development
self-guided learning resources
industry insight
and collaborative artistic community
…while eliminating the filler classes, frustration caused by lack of direction, and historical industry tips that no longer apply to the music industry as it is today.
Inside TDV, singers receive guidance from top NYC-based instructors Sophie Amelkin and Devony Smith who are actively immersed in the musical theater, rock, contemporary, and classical industries, along with workshops and conversations featuring MAJOR industry guests.
Past guests and collaborators have included:
Dan Micciche, Music Director of Wicked B’way
Jenn Colella, Tony Award nominee
Casting directors Micah Johnson-Levy (Hadestown B’way), Patrick Maravilla (Chicago B’way), Jamibeth Margolis (Harmony B’way)
Broadway veterans Aaron LaVigne, Alexander Sovronsky, and Sydney Shepherd
Talent agents including Nicole Wichinsky, Irene Cabrera, Aimee Erickson, and Ruth Deane
Arena rock tour managers
Arena/Stadium scale touring artists
Songwriting experts
Sync licensing experts
Music theory workshops
Grammy winning Jazz artists
And more…(too much to fit on one website page)!
Rather than forcing singers into a rigid one-size-fits-all structure, TDV is designed to adapt to each individual artist:
their goals
their voice
their strengths
their challenges
and the kind of artistry and career they ultimately want to build
Our goal is not simply to provide “more” training. It is to provide more focused, strategic, and transformational training that helps singers achieve stronger, faster, and more lasting results — while costing less than what many artists are already paying for a single weekly private voice lesson alone. That is not for lack of value…it is simply a central part of our mission working with artists.
Because when singers receive the right training, mentorship, support, and artistic environment, everything changes.
This program is a supportive and intensive experience, combining private coaching, group learning, industry mentorship, and a deeply connected community of inclusive, like-minded artists.
“My biggest wins since joining TDV are recording a full length studio album, performing live, & huge strides on my voice development. I have become so much better at singing than I imagined I was capable of. My artist mentality and professionalism were also greatly developed throughout my time with TDV.”

The Dynamic Voice Team
Sophie Amelkin
In almost 20 years of teaching, Sophie has worked with students all over the world. Her teaching philosophy has always been rooted in a firm belief that singers MUST be completely safe and supported in their studio environment whilst learning the specifics of how the voice functions as an acoustic instrument. Singers are not always given the most complete and in-depth instruction around how their vocal instruments work, how to master function, coordination, breath support and then use that to shape and express music. Whether you are a metal vocalist, an operatic soprano, or a jazz singer, your instrument has the same foundations. Whether you are building upon years of training, or starting from scratch, it is Sophie’s mission to help you gain freedom and mastery in your technique.
Sophie is a true crossover artist whose career spans theater, classical, and rock stages. She has toured internationally with a GRAMMY-winning rock band, performed Off-Broadway, and appeared as a classical soloist at Carnegie Hall.
She has sung and recorded with Grammy nominated Skylark Vocal Ensemble and a multitude of other professional ensembles across the U.S. See www.sophieamelkin.com for additional bio and highlights.
Founder, Voice Teacher
Devony Smith
GRAMMY®-nominated for Best Classical Vocal Solo and praised by The New York Times for her “sensual” and “strong” voice, mezzo-soprano Devony Smith bridges the worlds of classical opera and cutting-edge contemporary music with equal mastery. A versatile artist with a rich operatic foundation and a fearless commitment to new work, she brings both technical precision and vivid interpretive insight to every performance.
A sought-after collaborator for today’s leading composers, Devony has premiered works by Grammy Award-winner Jennifer Higdon, Jake Landau, Eve Beglarian, and Luna Pearl Woolf. This spring, she originated the role of the Designer in the world premiere of Woolf’s Number Our Days at the Perelman Performing Arts Center with the Choir of Trinity Wall Street.
Devony has a longstanding relationship with Kate Soper’s Here Be Sirens—performing it across four seasons, including at National Sawdust. She recently joined the Albany Symphony for a program of five world premieres at the EMPAC Theater in Troy. In the past year alone, her work with the Albany Symphony under David Alan Miller has included nine premieres.
Equally at home in the canon, Devony’s operatic credits span roles such as Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, Hansel in Hansel and Gretel, the title role in La Cenerentola with Opera Modesto, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia with New York City Opera, Dido in Dido and Aeneas at Teatro Comunale di Narni, and the Rooster in a new orchestral arrangement of The Cunning Little Vixen, recorded for Naxos in collaboration with Opera Freiburg.
